RALEIGH, N.C. — This is the last weekend for the Chinese Lantern Festival, and there are plenty of other things happening around the Triangle too!

NC Chinese Lantern Festival (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre has been transformed into a sea of lighted lantern sculptures. This annual festival kicks wraps up on Sunday, Jan. 13.

Mutts & Marshmallows (WakeMed Soccer Park, 201 Soccer Park Dr., Cary) - This dog-friendly race is happening on Saturday morning at WakeMed Soccer Park. There are four races to choose from including the 5K Doggie Dash, a 5K, an 8K and a 1-mile fun run. As always, everyone who finishes the race gets a great mug, all the hot chocolate they can drink. All dog entries go to support the SPCA of Wake County.
Calabash Style Lobster Boil (Raleigh Beer Garden, 614 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - Held in a tent behind Raleigh Beer Garden on Saturday, this event features lobster, shrimp and live music. Tickets are on sale now.

The Great Cover Up (Kings, 14 W Martin St., Raleigh) - A Kings tradition is back! Local bands will be covering legends during this four night event. It kicked off Wednesday and wraps up Saturday. Proceeds go to charity.

George Lopez's The Wall World Tour (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - This multi-faceted performer hits the stage Friday night.
Fiddler on the Roof (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Tony award-winning director Bartlett Sher brings his fresh take on this beloved masterpiece to life. See it at DPAC through Sunday.

North Carolina Symphony Plays Mozart and Shostakovich (Meymandi Concert Hall, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - The North Carolina Symphony performs Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10 Friday and Saturday night.
Joe Newberry’s Music Party (Fletcher Opera Theatre, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - This Missouri native and North Carolina transplant is known for his powerful and innovative banjo playing, as well as his songwriting and guitar skills. See him Saturday night at Fletcher Opera Theatre.
Gregory Ala Isakov (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham) - This Colorado-based indie-folk artist is also a full-time farmer who sells vegetable seeds and grows various market crops on his three-acre farm. See him at Carolina Theatre of Durham Friday night.
