Live music and flip flops

Flip Flop 1K Run/Walk - The nOg Run Club is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for largest flip flop 1K on Saturday at Bond Brothers Beer Company in Cary. If you can walk a half mile in flip flops, you can join this run.
The Atlanta Blues Revue - The Music Maker Blues Revue is an all-star band and a thriving musical institution. It was born in the early 1990s as a backing band for Guitar Gabriel and quickly became a power cell of Music Maker's live presence. Each featured artist takes a turn in the spotlight, culminating in a fast-paced show with non-stop music. See them Friday night at The Bullpen in Durham.
The Beast on the Roof at Durham Hotel - Enjoy sunsets, cocktails and live music on the rooftop at the Durham Hotel on Sunday.
2nd Friday Art Walk - Head to downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro on Friday night to enjoy live music, hands-on art demonstrations, discounts and more.
Comedy Night: In the Zoo - VAE will host two hilarious comedians Saturday night in conjunction with its current exhibition, Pet The Zoo. The goal is to showcase talented comedy performers, encourage new community connections, and give you a chance to laugh your head off for 90 minutes.
Summerfest: Blind Boys of Alabama - Legendary gospel vocal group the Blind Boys of Alabama and the North Carolina Symphony will merge gospel emotion and classical tradition on songs including "People Get Ready," "Down by the Riverside" and "Amazing Grace" during a show at Booth Amphitheatre on Saturday.
Outdoor Prince Party - Celebrate Prince's birthday weekend on Saturday at Tobacco Road Sports Cafe in Raleigh. A DJ will kick things off at 5 p.m. followed by The Soul Psychadelique Orchestra at 8 p.m.
First Aid Kit with Jade Bird - The North Carolina Museum of Art kicks off its summer outdoor concert series with Swedish indie rockers First Aid Kit on Friday.

Bull Durham Rewind - As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the film ‘Bull Durham,’ the Durham Bulls are hosting “Bull Durham Rewind” at historic Durham Athletic Park on Friday. Fans will have the opportunity to watch the movie for free at one of the flick’s main filming locations. Local food trucks will be in attendance, and Bull Durham Beer Co. will be served. Additionally, the team’s Bull Durham characters Crash, Nuke and Annie will be in attendance for photo opportunities, as will the mascot from the movie and Wool E. Bull.
Grease and a Sock Hop - Southern Village in Chapel Hill will be screening the movie "Grease" and holding a costume contest, sock hop and classic car show on Saturday.
Amadeus Live with the NC Symphony - Experience the multi-Academy Award-winning 1984 motion picture on a vast HD screen while Mozart's most celebrated works are performed live by the North Carolina Symphony joined by the North Carolina Master Chorale on Thursday and Friday nights at Meymandi Concert Hall.
Ponysaurus Brewing Co. Summer Movie Series - Head to this Durham brewery on Sunday for two events. First up, there will be a summer vintage-inspired pop up shop from noon to 8 p.m. After that, stay for a screening of "Back to the Future."
NCMA Outdoor Movie
Lady Bird - The NCMA’s outdoor movie season kicks off with a screening of the Oscar-nominated Lady Bird Saturday. All outdoor movie tickets go on sale the Friday before each movie screening date.
Wonder Woman - Enjoy an outdoor screening of this film at Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on Friday night.

For the foodies

Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo - More than 50 trucks will be lining 11 city blocks in downtown Raleigh on Sunday for this rodeo.
Food trucks stretched from the Capitol Building to City Plaza during the Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo.
Raleigh's International Food Festival - Enjoy food and wine from across the globe during this event on Saturday in City Plaza in downtown Raleigh. There will also be live music and performances.
Pimento Cheese Festival - Food trucks will line Academy Street in downtown Cary on Saturday to serve their regular menu, along with new dishes featuring this southern delicacy. Enjoy live music at the Downtown Park, grab a drink from local breweries, and taste some of the best pimento cheese samples from local restaurants. You can even test your skills in the pimento cheese sculpting contest!
Day of Guatemala in Raleigh - Learn about Guatemalan food and culture on Saturday at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. There will be about 50 community organizations on hand, live music, a firetruck and face painting.
Downtown Cary Food and Flea - This monthly artisan market is Sunday at Fidelity Bank Plaza. There will be live music, local arts, shopping, food trucks and beer.
Wine Sundae - Love wine and ice cream? Chatham Hill Winery will be pairing both this weekend for people with a sweet tooth.
