RALEIGH, N.C. — Lots to do this weekend! Here are our picks!
Dine Out Downtown (Downtown Raleigh, Fayetteville Street, Raleigh) - Enjoy dinner from your favorite downtown Raleigh restaurants as you dine outdoors on closed streets and listen to live music by local musicians. This weekend's event is Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday on Fayetteville Street. Guests must wear masks and practice social distancing.
Downtown Cary Food & Flea: May Pop-Up Market (Fidelity Bank Parking Lot, 100 W. Chatham St., Cary) - This pop-up market returns to historic downtown Cary on Sunday just in time for Mother's Day. There will be more than 40 local artists and artisans, plus food trucks, live music and craft beer. The market runs noon to 4 p.m.
First Friday (Historic City Market, 215 Wolfe St., Raleigh) - Enjoy First Friday in downtown Raleigh on Friday evening. There will be a special celebration of the North Carolina Museum of Art's upcoming Art in Bloom exhibit. In City Market, photographer Guillermo Delgado will be doing portraits in front of a stunning floral display by Art in Bloom participating designer Olivia Chisholm of To Live in Color. Grab a single-stem flower, cookies by the NCMA's Sip Coffee Bar and Café partner Catering Works and pick up an exclusive Art in Bloom button to bring the floral fun home. There will also be live music from 5 to 8 p.m.
Mike Epps (PNC Arena in Raleigh) - Mike Epps brings his "In Real Life Comedy" tour to PNC Arena for two shows on Sunday. He will be joined by Lavell Crawford, DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller and Kountry Wayne. Tickets are still available. PNC Arena requires guests to wear a two-ply cloth mask or face covering that covers both the mouth and nose.
Evening Art Market (Outer Loop Arts, 803 Ramseur St STE C, Durham) - Head to Durham's Outer Loop Arts for an evening pop-up market on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be pieces from their resident six artists. Masks are required.
Art-n-Soul Makers Market (Preston Village, 301 Preston Village Way, Cary) - This Sunday event at Preston Village in Cary features local artisans, farmers, food trucks, beer and more.
Moore Square Market (Moore Square Park, 200 South Blount Street, Raleigh) - Pick up your local produce and treats, meet up with friends and enjoy live music at Moore Square Market in downtown Raleigh every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bruised Orange to perform John Prine Tribute Show (Lincoln Theatre, 126 E. Cabarrus St., Raleigh) - Bruised Orange will be performing a tribute concert to the late John Prine on Friday night at Lincoln Theatre
Beaver Queen Pageant (Online) -The 17th Annual Beaver Queen Pageant kicks off this Saturday. The event will be virtual gain this year with three episodes planned to get to know the contestants. The first episode will air on Saturday at 6 p.m. and can be viewed via the Beaver Queen Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube channels. The annual Beaver Queen Pageant is an annual fundraiser for the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association.
