There's plenty of New Year's Eve fun to be had in the Triangle this weekend and several other events too.

RALEIGH, N.C. — There's plenty of New Year's Eve fun to be had in the Triangle this weekend and several other events too.

Notable NYE Celebrations

First Night Raleigh - This annual celebration will feature live music, comedy, amusement park rides and much more. There is an early acorn drop at 7 p.m. and another at midnight. If you can't make it out there, watch the coverage on Fox50, WRAL and WRAL.com.
The Avett Brothers - The band will once again ring in the new year at PNC Arena. This is their 14th annual New Year's Eve performance and second one in Raleigh.

Swing in the New Year with Gershwin - The North Carolina Symphony will help ring in the new year at Meymandi Concert Hall with the music of Gershwin.
NYE at The Dogwood - Ring in the new year at a new bar! This craft cocktail bar located near Raleigh Beer Garden will feature free entry, DJ Willis from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., a heated patio, craft cocktails, a free midnight toast and more!

NYE at Unscripted Durham - Local artist DJ Guv'nor will be there along with tarot card readers with a look at what's in store for 2018. Tickets include a champagne toast at midnight and hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening.
Stay Classy Durham NYE Party – ​Close the year in style and start 2018 off right at Fullsteam with great beer, jazzy music and sparkling wine at midnight. Tea Cup Gin will play starting at 9.
New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball - This tradition at The Mayton Inn features a champagne toast at midnight, a buffet and hors d'oeuvres, a photo booth and a DJ will be playing music.

Non-NYE fun this weekend

Kwanzaa Celebration - The Town of Cary hosts its 23rd annual Kwanzaa celebration at the Cary Arts Center on Friday. The theme for this year's celebration is "Peace, Love and Respect...For Everybody" and will feature performances by The African American Dance Ensemble, Kuumba Dance Company of Danville, Virginia and Lois Deloatch, who is noted for her rich contralto voice and expansive repertoire of classic tunes and original compositions.

Blues Night at The Bullpen - Chuck Cotton, Tad Walters, and T.A. James join together for a night of blues and beers at The Bullpen in Durham Saturday night.
Big Something - See the band at Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh on Friday night.
Big Hero 6 – Enjoy a screening of the award-winning animated film at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh Friday night.
