Both the House and Senate were in session Wednesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The General Assembly is about to take a week or so late summer vacation, pressing pause on a session that's defined for now by the ongoing budget fight.

On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis visited, discussing slow spending of federal disaster relief funds. The legislature also passed a series of mini budget bills, looking to get around Gov. Roy Cooper's veto of the main budget.

Hear about that, and more, on today's episode of The Wrap.
