NC's daily average of new coronavirus cases lowest in 7 weeks — North Carolina reported another 3,469 coronavirus infections on Tuesday, bringing the seven-day average in the state down to 5,000 a day, the lowest mark since Aug. 12. But the 10.6 percent positive rate on virus tests is back over 10 percent for the first time in more than a week.
