Raleigh, N.C. — North Carolina will get a respite this week from severe weather that pummeled the state with tornadoes, flash floods and damaging winds.
"Tomorrow, that will all be out of here, and we'll have a very nice finish to the weekend to turn things around," WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.
Sunday will boast sunny skies, lower humidity and pleasant temperatures reaching into the low 70s.
The calm will continue into the work week.
Full or partly sunny skies and temperatures will last through at least Wednesday. A chance of a storm or rain shower returns on Thursday.
Temperatures will rise into the 80s for most of the work week, reaching to around 88 degrees by Wednesday.
