North Carolina's department of transportation launched a mobile application that allows drivers to get real-time updates on road conditions straight from their cell phones.
“People expect instant information, and NCDOT Mobile gives it to them,” Greer Beaty, communications director for NCDOT, said in a news release Friday. “Now you don’t need a computer to get road closure or traffic congestion updates before you get behind the wheel.”
NCDOT Mobile is a phone-friendly version of the department's web site. It can be accessed by typing "m.ncdot.gov" in a cell phone browser.
