RALEIGH, N.C. — Friday kicks off the weekend with a "fine day with plenty of sunshine" and temperatures in the low 90s, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

"I think we’re stuck with the 90s now for quite some time, so we just have to grin and bear it," she said. "This time of year, we typically see our hottest temperature of the day around 5 or 6 o’clock."

Friday's sun should set around 8:30 p.m., and the nighttime will be warm with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Saturday will be partly cloudy and hot with a slim chance of an isolated storm in the afternoon.

"(The storms) would be very few and far between and more likely to our west," Gardner said.

Sunday will be partly cloudy and hotter with another slight chance of showers and storms in the afternoon.
