RALEIGH, N.C. — A few isolated rain showers and storms could threaten the weekend, but for the most part, central North Carolina will be mostly cloudy, warm and muggy.

The high reached near 90 degrees Saturday. Temperatures will fall in the evening to the lower 70s.

"It will be fairly quiet Saturday night with a few showers toward the coast," WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.

Skies will also be mostly cloudy Sunday, with a high near 87 degrees and a chance of thunderstorms later on.

"Later Sunday, an upper level disturbance comes in over the West and increases our chances of hit and miss thunderstorms," Moss said.

The workweek will also start out with a chance of showers on Monday.
