Raleigh, N.C. — Severe weather passed through the Triangle Monday morning and could hit areas south and east of Raleigh later in the afternoon, said WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport saw .5 inches of rain Monday morning, while some other areas near the Triangle saw as much as 2 inches, Gardner said.
Tuesday will be partly to mostly sunny, a little warmer and noticeably less humid. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
There is a slight chance of a thundershower, mainly toward the southern coastal plain.
Tuesday night will be mostly clear and nice with lows in the 60s.
"We've been lucky to not have a long streak of hot weather (yet this summer)," Gardner said.
