What is the present drought situation for Randolph county? The ground is so saturated water stays on top.

MIKE MOSS SAYS:       John,     Randolph County is currently not under any sort of drought condition, due to plentiful rainfall amounts over the past six months or so. Portions of the central and southern mountains of our state are still in severe to extreme drought, while moderate drought extends into the foothills and far western Piedmont. Some shorter-term indicators such as the national crop moisture index show much of the state, including Randolph county, in an "abnormally moist" category.
