I was wondering if there is some sort of database you can access online for lightning strikes. I think it would be interesting to know the location of strikes from different storms on different dates. Is there any type of database like this available to the general public?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:      John,     There is a database available via the web, but it is not public and requires a fee for access. For more details, type "lightning vaisala moss" into the search form at the upper right of the page and you'll turn up a few previous posts that provide additional info.
