Where can I find the maximum wind speed for a specific day at a specific location (ie.Henderson, NC on 4/20/08)?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:       Greg,    We have a link on our Almanac page that allows you to select a date in the past on which to look at weather conditions recorded at the Raleigh-Durham airport. Once you get to that page, you can change the selection to another station. For example, I changed it to the Henderson-Oxford airport and found that the maximum sustained wind speed for the day was 13 mph, with a gust to 29 mph. Note that there seems to be an issue with the code that lists maximum wind speed and gusts near the top of the page. The graph showing winds in red and gusts as blue dots seems to be accurate, however, or you can read those variables off using the wind speed and gust columns in the listing of observations shown toward the bottom of the page.
