I am a Junior in high school and I am interested in being a Meteorologist. I was wondering if there is any internships that would be avialible in the summer or anytime.

MIKE MOSS SAYS: Christina, At this particular time, we do not have an active internship program in the WeatherCenter. However, we do occasionally host students for job shadowing opportunities. Similar programs are often available with other branches of the meteorology career field, and in addition to a media outlet such as ours, I would encourage you to take a broad look at the field by reading about and/or visiting research (university meteorology departments, for example), government (National Weather Service, EPA, NC Division of Air Quality, etc) and military (weather units at Pope or Symour Johnson AFBs, perhaps) facilities. Here are some good places to pursue more in-depth information on meteorology as a career, along with tips on preparing for a career in the field:
