I don't have a rain gauge and I am very curious if you can use the radar to tell us how much it rained North of Fuquay Varina on 401 at the corner of Dwight Rowland and Ken Drive? This is greatly appreciated.

MIKE MOSS SAYS:        Ethan,      Radar rainfall estimates for that general area show a strong northwest to southeast gradient that makes it difficult to be too specific about the exact amount for your particular location (on top of the usual uncertainties inherent in radar rainfall estimation), but it appears somewhere in the 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch range would be a reasonable value, with some 4-5 inch totals not too far southeast of you. I live about 5 or 6 miles northwest of you in a broad area for which radar indicated 1.5 to 2 inches, and had right at 2 inches in my rain gauge from the storm you're asking about (the evening of 14 Sep 07).
