MIKE MOSS SAYS:       Chris,     Greenville was underneath one of the few feeder bands that made significant westward progress into the Coastal Plain as Gabrielle passed. A cooperative observer in the area recorded .45 inches of rain. Of course, convective rainfall of that sort can be quite variable, and radar indicated anything from a trace to as much as six tenths of an inch or so across Pitt County.
