The early winter continues in the Northeast to start Thanksgiving week. Rain and some snow will move through New England as a storm races off the coast. Another storm will prevail over the upper Ohio Valley before delivering more snow and rain to the Northeast Monday night into Tuesday. The snow is expected to spread from northern Pennsylvania to New England.

A third snowstorm is projected to drop over the upper Great Lakes. The snow can spread over more of the Great Lakes at night. In the wake of this storm, frigid air will plunge across the North Central states.

South Florida is expected to be the warmest location despite passing showers. Spotty showers will dampen the Carolina coastline, as well as the Tennessee Valley, with steadier rain in the western Gulf Coast. It will be a dry and seasonable day for the rest of the South.

High pressure will provide dry weather throughout the West. Smoke from the wildfires will continue to create poor air quality over parts of Northern and central California. Gusty Santa Ana winds will heighten the fire danger in Southern California.

Focus: Thanksgiving Travel Outlook

On Wednesday, a quick-hitting snowfall across the Northeast and New England can result in slow travel conditions. A separate storm system will bring rain and mountain snow to the West Coast from Wednesday into Thursday, also causing travel disruptions. It will be dry elsewhere.
