A strong nor’easter will continue to pull away from the New England Coast on Sunday. High winds are expected to subside, but coastal flooding will still be a concern at high tide.

Despite a high pressure system that has settled over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, some snow showers will be possible across Cape Cod and the Adirondacks. Otherwise, dry weather and mostly sunny conditions are expected from Michigan and central New York down to Florida.

Snow is expected from the Rockies into the Plains on Monday. Periods of showers and thunderstorms will be possible across eastern Texas, Arkansas and northern Louisiana. Snow is expected from the Colorado Rockies up to Idaho and Montana, and as far east as the Dakotas. Snow accumulation is expected to be over 1 foot in some places. Temperatures will be high enough Sunday for rain from Nebraska to Minnesota.

The Pacific Coast will be much calmer, with spotty rain or snow showers in western Washington and in the northern Sierras.

Focus: Break from Storms in Northeast

As residents of the Northeast begin cleaning up after the powerful nor’easter, which left many without power, a few days of dry weather are expected early this week. But wet conditions may return to the region by midweek.
