Missing NC hiker safely rescued from Pisgah National Forest
Authorities said a missing hiker was safely rescued Sunday evening from a Pisgah National Forest trail after a 24-hour search.

Frank Sanady, 67, from Charlotte, started hiking the China Creek Trial on Saturday around noon, according to Caldwell County officials.
Search parties for the then-overdue hiker began 6 p.m. Saturday and continued past midnight, according to tweets by the Watauga Community Center. The searches resumed first thing Sunday morning.
The Boone Police Department told WRAL News that Sanady was located around noon Sunday. He was evacuated from the forest at about 5:10 p.m., and was "uninjured but very fatigued," officials said.
The China Creek Trail, located in Pisgah National Forest, is considered "extremely rugged terrain" and descends several hundred feet in elevation. Sanady is said to be an experienced hiker, according to a statement from the county.
Drones, a K-9 unit, and various search crews from multiple agencies assisted in the search.
