Trees falls onto Johnston County home; storm leaves thousands without power in Wake County
Thousands of residents in Wake County are waking up Wednesday without power after Tuesday's WRAL Weather Alert Day.

Tree crushes Johnston County home
A large tree fell on a home in Johnston County near Archer Lodge.
Sky 5 flew over the home at 7:40 a.m., where the tree fell on the roof.
The homeowner told WRAL News the tree fell onto the house before 1 a.m.
He said he was watching TV when he heard a roar that sounded like a train. That's when he ducked down.
His windows were shattered when the tree fell.
No one in the home was injured.
Thousands without power Wednesday morning
As of 6:05 a.m., 1,985 customers remained without electricity in Wake County as crews work to clean up the mess from those severe storms overnight.
Downed trees are partly to blame for the large outages in Wake County.
Downed trees shut down roads, knock down power lines
A tree fell onto St. Marys Street in Raleigh, blocking the entire street.
Crews are still working to clear the street Wednesday morning.
This is at the intersection of St. Marys and Lake Drive. Take an alternate route to avoid traffic.
Another tree fell onto Drayford Way off of Jones Sausage Road in Raleigh, knocking down power lines in the area.
Crews worked overnight and are almost done clearing the debris.

You can see how strong the wind gusts were. The video shows trees blowing aggressively in the storm.
