"We will not just shut up and dribble:" William Peace women's basketball team reacts to racial slurs
A woman's basketball game between William Peace University and Westland College was called off on Sunday. A tweet from the William Peace University Women's Basketball Team said they, "Could not in good conscious participate in today's game."
SAY HE RAN OFF THE ROAD INTO THE MEDIUM AND HIT A GUARDRAIL. ABOUT 4000 GALLONS OF GASOLINE FROM THE DAMAGED TRUCK. >>> A WOMAN'S BASKETBALL GAME FOR THIS UNIVERSITY WE HAVE UNCOVERED MORE INFORMATION ABOUT WHY. WE PEACE UNIVERSITY HAS SUSPENDED ME FOR THE SECOND TIME FOR DEFENDING MYSELF FROM RACIAL SLURS. SHE CLAIMS ARE GENERALLY 30th SHE WAS CAUGHT A RACIAL SLUR TWICE BY A MARY BALDWIN PLAYER. THAT IS WHEN THINGS GOT PHYSICAL. ON MARCH THIRD SHE SAID A COLLEGE PLAYER JUST A RACIAL SLUR IN FOR THE MIDDLE FINGER. CROSS WAS SUSPENDED BUT SHE SAYS NOTHING WAS DONE WITH THE OTHER ATHLETES. >> I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THESE TWO GIRLS ARE ALLOWED TO DO THIS. >>> THE HEAD COACH POSTED THIS STATEMENT ON TWITTER AND TWEETED IN PART, WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING UNTIL WE GET JUSTICE FOR HER TEAMMATES, WE WILL NOT JUST SHUT UP AND DRIBBLE. THIS IS NOT IDEAL BUT I STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH HER DECISION AND PROUDLY FEEL THEIR VOICE. SHE DOESN'T FOR THE LOVE FROM THE SCHOOL THAT HER TEAMMATES HAVE SUPPORTED HER.
