could be, you know, Teresa Caskets. Allen says she was reviewing bills with her 78 year old mother Jan. One day when she started to sense that something wasn't right. She was paying a bill every month for life insurance. But yet she didn't have life insurance. Teresa discovered someone had talked her mom into buying a prepaid funeral. When she started digging into the details, Teresa learned her mother was paying 22% interest on something she could have paid in full all at once. And over the course of 10 years, the value of $6400 she would have actually paid out $16,000. But that wasn't all. It turns out. Jan also fell victim to a very common tax collection scam. She owed money and she needed to pay right on the spot, or her and my brother were going to be taken to jail. Amy Nofziger, with the AARP, says, As we age, we become bigger targets for scammers. Honestly, they hold the majority of wealth in the United States, and scammers go where the money is. She suggests people teach their elderly loved ones not to answer the phone. If they don't know who's calling and warned them never to give out any account numbers to strangers. Anybody that asks you for a prepaid gift card, red flag, anyone that asks you for Bitcoins Social Security number, Medicare number, financial institution information. All of those are red flags. Teresa says her mother now has her mail and bills sent directly to her Children. In his relief, she doesn't have to deal with it anymore. She's still having people that are trying to reach out to her, um, to take advantage of her age and of her vulnerability as the nation ages. It's a tough but important conversation to have to prevent years of hard work in savings being drained away by one phone call or email. Chris Pallone, NBC News

Good morning. I'm meteorologist, Brian Schrader in the WRL severe weather center, we saw some showers and a couple of rumbles of thunder south of the triangle overnight. We're going to see that moving out of here as we head through the morning hours, but we're gonna hang on to the clouds. We'll call it mostly cloudy today. We could see some peaks of sun though, late this afternoon in a few spots. Highs today in the mid seventies enjoy that warm weather because it is out of here for Sunday. Here's a look at the big picture, cold front, moved through the area. It's settled to our south and we're going to be tracking low pressure riding along that front that will generate some rain for tomorrow. Now, here's a look at Future Cast Day and you see as we put it into motion through the rest of the morning into the afternoon, we hang on to those clouds, maybe a few breaks in the clouds around four or five o'clock later this afternoon. But also note in our southern counties, this version of Futurecast has some showers popping up. So I want to keep that in mind South of the triangle. Late this afternoon into the evening, you could see some showers and then as we head overnight, Saturday into Sunday, we'll start to see rain developing. Here's futurecast for tomorrow and the afternoon light rain throughout the entire viewing area looks pretty wet all the way through the afternoon and into the evening, this particular version of Futurecast has the rain clearing out of here, late Sunday night and early Monday morning leaving us with clear skies for Monday. Here's a look at our seven day forecast tomorrow. The rain is going to be a big story but also the much cooler temperatures. You see that high there of 61 that's probably going to happen at midnight behind that cold. We're going to see those temperatures falling through the day afternoon, temperatures tomorrow likely will be in the low to mid 50. So definitely a different feel for tomorrow. And then with clearing and warmer weather Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, we get a little closer to normal in terms of temperature as we head to the end of next week. We're watching a front. The question is, does the front stall near us or does it clear on through that will determine our shower chances? But overall, it looks like a pretty nice week.
