A Wayne County sheriff's deputy driving on U.S. Highway 117 hit a pedestrian Friday night, officials said.
Posted — UpdatedWAYNE — A Wayne County sheriff's deputy driving on U.S. Highway 117 hit a pedestrian late Friday night, officials said.
The deputy was traveling on U.S. 117 South shortly before midnight when he struck a man who was walking in the middle of the highway.
The victim was not seriously hurt, authorities said.
Officials said they are not releasing the name of the deputy involved, because they do not plan to take action against the officer.
