I mean you're getting your first and last name, Casey Beckett. How do you spell C A S E Y B E C K E T T. What do you make of what you're seeing there? I don't know. I just think it's cool. Like it's kind of devastating. Yeah, but like it's just crazy to me how weather can be this powerful. You you live here. So you know these places, you know the look of this area, what is it like to see it dismantled by the storm and the wind. It's just, I don't even know, it's kind of just crazy to me. I don't even know how it's hard to put into work. I work at wicked tuna right down there too. So it's usually so beautiful. But I still think this, I still think this is really cool. What did you see when you were down there? Um It started coming up real fast, The water started rising so we kind of left so we didn't get swept out. Um There's a bunch of like foam and just there's trash like floating damage to buildings. Yeah. Yeah. We went to Ripley's too like the side of Ripley's is coming off like they're siding on the walls coming off. Yeah. Thank you. You too. But sign here says amusement park and ocean parking and if you see behind me the ocean has quite literally parked itself at the amusement park. This is not flooding from the rank. I got you. This is not flooding hey? All right. What now we're just we're just off ocean. Yeah, you would know better than me but we're yeah, we're at the uh the roller coaster. I forgot you know this place so well okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Some significant where roofs have been lifted off of buildings, others facades are missing. Some are definitely gonna have water. Yeah. Mhm. Mhm. Yeah. A Mhm. Yeah. Mhm. Right. Yeah. If you had to guess it's gone long at times, there's no visual except just the graphics too. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mhm. Wave right there man. Holy mother. Just just now A wave. The height I haven't seen yet. Just went, oh there's another one. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Standby. Thought we might get a forecast on the midwest. Yeah. Yeah. Mhm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Deborah we're getting a better idea of exactly what kind of damage is being left behind by the storm and we are certainly not done with it. We're nowhere near done with it and already we've seen quite a bit. The sign here says amusement park and ocean parking. Look behind me. The ocean has certainly parked itself around this amusement park flooding all the way around it. Wanted to show you some of these places because there are some of the well known areas of ocean boulevard on that main drag here in Myrtle Beach. You can see how high the water is. If you look over this way, there's some vehicles that were caught up in it earlier. There was a gentleman right on the corner of that balcony. He looks like he was looking down at maybe him vehicle and you can see there's water in that building as well. He just went back in his place. He was on the second story. I don't know that he can get down and get away from there at the moment. We also want to show you the oceanfront as well. The ocean basically has been allowed to do what it wants with ocean boulevard, look down there, look at the power of those waves and in the foreground you'll see two things that is ocean water but lots of debris as well. We had some heavy winds tear through here. They're still gusting from time to time and they were taking pieces of businesses with it facades were falling away earlier as we were reporting and you mentioned Deborah, there was at least one hotel where a large portion, if not the greater portion of the hotel of the roof is just gone. We were there as it simply peeled off and and and and blew away. But there's a lot of flooding on ocean boulevard, there's certain sections that have been completely blocked off and look at that wave stacking how tall every once in a while they get almost mountainous, looking there in the distance, there are going to be a lot of businesses, a lot of property damage in Myrtle Beach that we have already been able to see and think again, we're not done with this. We've seen that there's gonna be water in a number of businesses. We were talking to a few people who are local here, they walked down there just to get a few photos and just see what kind of damage they're dealing with. One of the people I talked with actually works at one of the businesses down on this and she's a little worried about it and it was really took her breath away to, to look at the damage and what we're seeing so far. I asked her what it was like to see a storm like this come on shore and basically dismantle, you know, the place that she sees each and every day when she's coming and going and she started, she just didn't have the words and that's really where we're at right now. We're seeing a lot of flooding. We're still dealing with the winds as you can see behind me. And the ocean as we speak, is on ocean boulevard in Myrtle Beach. The ocean is now amongst the businesses and amongst the hotels were going to get a closer look and we'll be back with you to see exactly how bad the flooding has gotten. All right.</p>

I'm meteorologist K Campbell in the wr a severe weather center starting a new week on Monday. So here's what to expect as you gear up for the new week. Rain chances will be climbing, especially Tuesday and Wednesday. We are going to get a nice little break from the heat this week. So enjoy the spring like weather while it's here with us no more nineties on our seven day forecast, I would say the best days to be out and about do anything outside look like they're gonna be on Monday and Thursday of this week. So here's this set up. We've got a lot of moisture and rain falling in parts of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas. Right now, we're going to see all the moisture from this system and some of the energy make it to North Carolina starting Monday night, Monday during the day, things should be dry. We've got this area of high pressure overhead but we will begin to see an increase in cloud cover throughout the day. And then late Monday night, we'll see a warm front lift through the area that could generate some spotty light showers overnight into Tuesday. And then during the day. Tuesday, we've got more lift in the atmosphere. It's a cloudy day, a much cooler day and we should see rain on and off throughout the day. But rain is likely you'll at least get a period of rain. Tuesday. More than likely it's, there should still be some breaks in the rain at least. And then some thunderstorms could be mixed in as well. This is as far out as that high resolution model goes right now, but we've got a nice break from the heat coming our way. 79 is our normal high. This time of year, we're going to be near or slightly above normal most days. The exception is Tuesday with the highest rain chances, temperatures will be a little cooler just 73 for the high tonight. It's a cool night, really, comfortably cool. Enjoy it while you can. It's probably one of our last ones of the season. Upper forties to lower fifties across the area tonight. 50 Raleigh 49 in Rocky Mount. And for your Monday forecasts, ties are in the upper seventies for Roxboro and South Hill. 81. The high in Durham, Raleigh Rocky Mountain, Southern Pines, 82 degrees in Fayetteville and Goldsboro. Your seven day forecast looking pretty nice. But we've got rain chances coming our way Tuesday and we'll see some scattered storms on Wednesday as well. It's about a 60% chance Wednesday, but an 80% chance Tuesday, Thursday, rain chances are lower at just 20%. 82 degrees and partly cloudy Friday late in the day into Saturday, we could see some scattered storms move in. Not looking like a washout though. It does look like we'll have a drier into next weekend. 84 partly cloudy next Sunday.
