Water main break closes part of Lake Boone Trail

Part of Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh was closed Tuesday morning as crews worked to repair a water main break.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Part of Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh was closed Tuesday morning as crews worked to repair a water main break.

Lake Boone Trail was closed between Ridge Road and Horton Street.

Crews had been on the scene for 15 hours. They had fixed an 8-inch water main but were still working to repair about 300 feet of roadway, the City of Raleigh said.

People should avoid the area if possible and expect delays, city officials said.

The following detours are available:

  • Westbound traffic on Lake Boone Trail can turn right onto Horton Street, left onto Ridge Road and right onto Lake Boone Trail.
  • Eastbound traffic on Lake Boone Trail can turn left onto Ridge Road, right onto Horton Street and left onto Lake Boone Trail.
