Warrants: Woman crashed car with unrestrained baby inside into home

Police have charged a woman with child abuse after they say she crashed a car carrying an unrestrained infant into a home.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have charged a woman with child abuse after they say she crashed a car carrying an unrestrained infant into a home.

Brieania Pinnock, 16, is charged with misdemeanor child abuse and resisting a public officer. According to arrest warrants, Pinnock was driving a car with a friend's child inside when she collided into a home at 3732 Amistad Drive. The baby was unrestrained in the backseat.

Police say Pinnock had fled a car crash scene and barricaded herself inside the home when officers asked her to come out.

It is unknown if the baby was injured in the crash.

Pinnock's bond is set at $5,000.
