RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh swim coach facing multiple charges performed sex acts on a student in his car, according to search warrants.

Nicholas John Walkotten, 32, of Garner, is charged with indecent liberties with a child and a statutory sex offense with a child.

According to the search warrant, the 15-year old victim told police that Walkotten met her in a parking lot at 8305 Camp Durant Road on Aug. 1. Inside the car, Walkotten kissed the girl and performed multiple sex acts on her, the warrant states.

In an interview with police, Walkotten confessed to meeting the victim and said the meeting had been planned in advance, the warrant states.

When Walkotten dropped the victim off at her home following the encounter, the victim’s father saw her exit his car and questioned her, according to the warrant. When Walkotten sent her a text message, the victim’s mother replied and Walkotten, believing he was still messaging the teen, responded by telling her to delete all texts between them.

The warrant states the victim had several photos on her phone that showed Walkotten kissing her in the backseat of a car.

The phone also contained a “large amount” of text messages sent between June and August in which Walkotten and the victim discussed kissing and the victim performing sex acts on Walkotten.

Walkotten was an assistant swim coach for the Marlins of Raleigh Swim Team for the past three years, but the head coach told WRAL News that he was fired before his arrest, when allegations of misconduct surfaced.

Walkotten is being held at the Wake County Jail under $1.5 million bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 6.
