Warrants: Raleigh man charged with paying to have sex with 12-, 10-year-olds

A Raleigh man is facing multiple charges after authorities said he tried to have sex with underage children last week.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A Raleigh man is facing multiple charges after authorities said he tried to have sex with underage children last week.

Jay Lawrence Bobinski, 58, of 4920 Capital Blvd., was charged with two counts each of attempted statutory sex offense with a child and felony indecent liberties with a child and one count each of felony conspiracy and solicitation to commit a felony.

According to arrest warrants, an undercover detective either posed online as a 10- and a 12-year-old girl or arranged with Bobinski to provide girls for him in exchange for money. Bobinksi was arrested in Johnston County when he showed up for the encounter.

Bobinski was being held at the Johnston County Jail on Wednesday evening.
