Warrant: Man charged after knife fight at Cary apartment

Cary police were investigating after a fight sent two to the hospital Tuesday night.

CARY, N.C. — Cary police were investigating after a fight sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night.

Police said they were called to 302 Cheswick Place at Arbors at Cary Apartments, near Kildaire Farm Road and Cary Parkway, around 10 p.m. Cary police said one person was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh, which is a trauma center, and the other was sent to WakeMed Cary.

Zachary Nicholas Holmes, 33, who lives at the apartment, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. According to an arrest warrant, Holmes assaulted a man with a knife. His bail was set at $125,000.

It was not clear if Holmes was one of the two taken to the hospital, although he was injured in the fight.

Crime scene tape was put up around a parking lot at the complex Tuesday night.
