RALEIGH, N.C. — A man was arrested at WakeMed on Monday after he fought and resisted police officers inside the hospital, according to an arrest warrant.

William D. Menard, 55, of Raleigh, was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree trespassing and resisting a public officer after "fighting and resisting public safety officers and then police officers, causing fixtures to be knocked over" inside the emergency room at WakeMed's New Bern Avenue campus, according to the warrant.

The warrant also stated that nursing staff and officers asked Menard to leave. While campus police were attempting to arrest Menard, he "refused to place his hands behind his back," according to the warrant.

Menard was arrested and was being held on a $1,000 bond.
