Warrant issued in Rocky Mount shooting
A Rocky Mount man told police that two men on a bike shot and robbed him along Dexter Street early Saturday.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in a shooting in the 500 block of Dexter Street.
Octavius Dickens, 21, is wanted in the shooting of Lanorris Smalls on July 4. Dickens faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, police said.
Officers found Smalls lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his neck around 1:45 a.m. on July 4.
Smalls told police that he was walking when two men on a bike approached him. One man shot and robbed him, and they both fled on the bike, police said.
Authorities have not released any information about a potential second suspect
