RALEIGH, N.C. — Private school enrollment across the state reached a new record this year with about 95,000 students attending religious and independent schools.

But those record numbers were not replicated in Wake County.

There are roughly 14,000 students enrolled in private schools in Wake County. That’s about 700 more than last school year.

Wake County Public Schools saw a jump of 7,500 students this year.
