Wake Sheriff's Office helps reunite 14-year-old boy with family

Sheriff's deputies partnered with Wake County Emergency Management to send an alert on the missing boy.

A 14-year-boy was reunited with his family Sunday morning after being found on the side of the road.

According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office, a driver spotted the teen near Poole and Hodge Roads in Southeast Raleigh Sunday Morning.

The driver called 911 after the boy appeared to be non-verbal and have a cognitive disability.

Sheriff's deputies responded immediately and the boy was taken to WakeMed Children's Hospital to be checked out as a precaution.

Deputies worked with Wake County Emergency Management to issue a community alert, through the ReadyWake system.

The boy was reunited with his family an hour after the alert went out.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and thanked the driver for stopping to check on the boy.
