Wake County Public School System will host magnet mini fairs for rising kindergartners this month.

The events are designed for families from Wake County who are contemplating a magnet school for their young children, who will start kindergarten in fall 2018.

Here's the schedule:

  • 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Jan. 4, at Farmington Woods Magnet Elementary School, 1413 Hampton Valley Rd., Cary, NC 27511
  • 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Jan. 9, at Green Magnet Elementary School, 5307 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh NC 27609
  • 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Jan. 17, 2018, at Washington Magnet Elementary School, 1000 Fayetteville St., Raleigh, NC 27601 UPDATE: This event at Washington Magnet is now 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Jan. 24.
Parents and/or staff from about 20 magnet schools will be on hand to answer questions about the schools and programs. Wake schools' website lists which schools will attend each of the magnet fairs.
