Raleigh, N.C. — A longtime spokesman for the Wake County Public School System resigned Friday.
Michael Evans, the district's chief communications officer of nine years, submitted his resignation Friday, schools spokesman Greg Thomas said.
Thomas did not give a reason for Evans' resignation, and Evans declined to comment Monday.
Evans will be on paid leave until Sept. 16.
