CARY, N.C. — A Wake County school bus hit a bicyclist early Wednesday morning in Cary, officials said.

A pair of cyclists were riding through the intersection of Lochmere Drive and Cary Parkway before sunrise. The bus driver told officials she did not see the female cyclist.

A man who said he was riding with the woman told WRAL News the group had lights on their bikes at the time of the crash.

The woman on the bike, who was not identified, was alert and lying on the ground after the crash. The other cyclist was not hit.

A school district official confirmed that two children were on the bus, but neither was injured.

The scene was clear by 7 a.m.
