Wake County Public Libraries, as always, have some fun activities coming up for kids and families.

First up is the Storybook Ball. For kids ages 3 and older and their families, head to the library when it's closed for an evening of dancing, crafting, stories and more. You're encouraged to come dressed as your favorite storybook character or in your "royal best," says the website.

The events are scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 14, at Eva Perry Regional, North Regional, Northeast Regional and West Regional libraries. It's 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 21, at Cameron Village Regional Library. Registration is encouraged for these so they can plan for the crowd.

And, on the last weekend in April and first weekend in May, the library system will celebrate with a Star Wars Fest. Libraries will feature a viewing of “Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures,” as well as crafts and games for Jedi and Stormtroopers of all ages, according to the system's website. For adults, there will be an adult Sci-Fi Drop-In Program. Costumes are encouraged.

The library system's website has more information about both, including contact information so you can sign up for the Storybook Balls.
