RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake Forest Road between Interstate 440 and St. Albans Drive reopened Friday afternoon, hours after a car crash knocked down a utility pole.

The driver of a 2003 Mercury told Raleigh police that she was traveling northbound on Wake Forest Road when she swerved to avoid another vehicle coming over into her lane. She drove onto the curb, striking the pole, according to a wreck report.

A traffic light held up by the pole fell, striking a 2012 Toyota traveling through the Navaho Drive-Wake Forest Road intersection.

There were no reported injuries, the report stated.

The driver who hit the utility pole, Doris Marsh, was cited for a safe movement violation.
