WAKE FOREST, N.C. — The manager of the Home Depot at 11915 Retail Drive in Wake Forest said the cleanup and investigation of a fire would keep the store closed until Friday morning.

Bags of charcoal in storage caught fire there Wednesday evening and quickly set off smoke alarms and sprinklers in the 150,000-square-foot building. No injuries were reported.

County and federal authorities were investigating the cause of the fire Thursday.

A Home Depot spokesman said the cleanup was complete by early afternoon, but that they were waiting for the stories fire and burglar alarm systems to come back online before they could re-open to customers.
