Wake County schools holding public hearing on reassignment proposal
On Tuesday night, parents in Wake County can give feedback on a reassignment proposal that could send up to 3,000 students to a different school.
THE CDC IS ALREADY RECOMMENDING ANYONE OVER 18 GET A BOOSTER. >>> TONIGHT IS YOUR CHANCE TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON A PLAN TO MOVE ABOUT 3,000 STUDENTS WITHIN WAKE COUNTY SCHOOLS. THE BOARD OF EDUCATION IS HOLDING A HEARING AT 5:30 THIS EVENING ON THE SECOND DRAFT OF THE PROPOSAL. MOST OF THE STUDENTS AFFECTED WOULD BE SENT TO ONE OF THREE NEW SCHOOLS. THE GOAL IS TO RELIEVE THE OVERCROWDED SCHOOLS AND FILL THE UNDERUSED ONES. >> WE BOUGHT THIS HOUSE TO BE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD FOR THIS SCHOOL, AND I KNOW A LOT OF PARENTS FEEL THAT WAY. IT FEELS LIKE THINGS ARE BEING TAKEN FROM US WITHOUT OUR CONTROL, AND THAT'S KIND OF INFURIATING. I HOPE THEY LISTEN AND TAKE INTO ACCOUNT NOT EVEN JUST OUR CONCERNS BUT THE MENTAL HEALTH OF THESE KIDS THAT HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH FOR THE LAST
