RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County is offering free, drive-thru COVID-19 tests at six different locations before and after Christmas.
Many people are choosing to get tested before seeing loved ones for the holiday, although health experts are advising Americans to avoid traveling and to gather with immediate household members only.

While a coronavirus test does not guarantee you will not infect others, it's a proactive step people can take if they choose to gather with people outside of their household.

The busiest travel days are projected to be the two Sundays after Christmas -- Dec. 27 and Jan. 3 -- with more than 18,400 travelers expected each day.
