Wake County discusses 3 options for 2020-21 school year
The Wake County School Board met Monday to discuss three plans for reopening schools in August.

Gov. Roy Cooper said a decision on how schools will look when they reopen in August would be announced on July 1 and based on data.
In the first half of Monday's meeting, school board members were called on one-by-one to voice their primary concerns as plans are made to return to schools. All members agreed that the physical health and safety of students and staff is priority.
Other topics included the mental health of students, who missed almost half a year of school, what PE, recess, school bus rides and lunchtime will be like, and budgeting and availability of health and safety suplies.
Health screenings and masks or face coverings will likely be a part of the school day, Moore has said, but many parents have voiced concern over masks in the classroom.
"Next year will not be normal, we should not try to convince ourselves otherwise," Moore said, adding that nothing is off the table.
