Wake County deputy fired, arrested over 2021 assault incident

The Wake County Sheriff's Office said Friday it has fired a Wake County deputy over an incident that occured in April of 2021.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office said Friday it has fired a Wake County deputy over an incident that occured in April of 2021.

25-year-old Jordan Christopher Maith has been fired from the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Following an investigation by the Internal Affairs Division, Wake County Investigators arrested Maith who faces an assault charge after allegedly pointing a gun during an incident in Durham.  

Wake County Sheriff Gerald M. Baker has opened an inquiry into the incident that culminated in Maith’s termination, according to the sheriff's office.
