RALEIGH, N.C. — U.S. marshals arrested a couple in Wake Forest Tuesday in connection with a road-rage incident that killed a man in Richmond, Va., in September.

Raleigh police told WTVR News in Richmond, Va., that Christopher Michael Sessoms, 40, and Charity Eunice Dees, 31, were operating a truck matching the description of the one that killed Christopher Lee Fisher, 24, in Richmond on Sept. 22.

Richmond police said that the driver of a red pickup with a North Carolina license plate swerved along Interstate I95, then cut off Fisher's Honda Accord and slammed on the brakes. Fisher crashed into a concrete pillar underneath an overpass. He later died of his injuries.

Police characterized the incident as road rage. Virginia prosecutors said witnesses reported that the pickup driver had been acting aggressively toward Fisher before the wreck.

Sessoms and Dees were charged in Wake County as fugitives from justice in connection with a felonious hit and run.

Dees faces an additional charge of trafficking heroin. She is fighting extradition to Virginia and is being held in the Wake County jail under a $500,000 bond.

Sessoms was also charged with violating a protective order and two counts of failure to appear in court. He was transferred to the Onslow County jail Wednesday to face outstanding charges there, as well. He has decided not to fight extradition to Virginia.
