The demand for coronavirus tests is only growing as more confirmed cases are reported.

Being tested takes seconds, but some patients in Wake County said they waited up to 10 days for results.

Where you choose to get tested may impact the amount of time you wait for results. WRAL News reached out to dozens of people who received COVID-19 tests to ask about their experiences.

Results were cross the board. Some people got their tests back in an hour, while others waited more than a week. Patients who received tests at the hospital usually saw the quickest results.

Wake County uses uses LabCorp for their testing. According to a spokesperson for the county, results come back in 5 to 7 days.

CVS recently posted on their website that high demand has led to testing delays, and results are coming between 6 and 10 days.

If you want to get a coronavirus test, register in advance for an appointment time. Anyone experiencing symptoms or who has been in a larger crowd is urged to get tested.
