RALEIGH, N.C. — InterAct of Wake County is holding a vigil at 6 p.m. Tuesday, as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, to remember victims and honor survivors.

The event, at the corner of Lane and Wilmington streets, will also highlight more than 50 women, men and children who have died this year as a result of domestic violence, organizers say, and survivors will also share their stories.

The nonprofit InterAct operates 24-hour crisis lines for domestic violence (866-291-0855) and sexual assault (866-291-0853) and also offers counseling, shelter, educational programs and other services for victims.
