Texas attorney general impeached; charged with bribery, obstruction of justice

The Republican controlled Texas State House of Representatives filed 20 articles of impeachment against embattled GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton. Paxton, a staunch ally of former president Donald Trump supported efforts to overturn the 2020 election, but today he's in the fight of his political life, charged with disregard of official duty, bribery, obstruction of justice and more -- allegations Paxton denies. The Texas House began investigating in March, after Paxton settled a wrongful termination suit for $3.3 million and requested state tax dollars to foot the bill.
