Tar Heel Traveler, Brooks Sandwich House in Charlotte

This burger/hot dog spot in Charlotte is a nothing-fancy little place, take-out only, that's been around since 1973 and still run by the Brooks family. What a beloved institution it is--and that love and support was vital in the face of unthinkable tragedy in 2019.
