Roanoke Rapids police chief involved in shooting

Roanoke Rapids Chief of Police Bobby Martin shot a suspect Friday morning and, per department policy, was placed on paid leave. The State Bureau of Investigation will investigate, which is standard when a law enforcement officer fires a weapon.
